Welcome to the multimedia portfolio of Cole Caron
Artist, Musician, Event Tech, Writer, & Educator
Thank you for taking the time to browse my work.
I was born and raised in Washington State, where I grew up spending time outdoors and expressing myself through drawings and electronic music. My early career was spent working in Challenge Course Facilitation, Outdoor Environmental Education, and Youth Expedition Program Logistics, where I became deeply interested in how small teams of people help each other through challenging situations.
I then enrolled in Western Washington University’s Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, where I explored this interest in detail through the study of communications, psychology, and ethnomusicology. I graduated in Fall 2023 with a BA Interdisciplinary Concentration titled “Group Dynamics and Communities of Practice in Music and Education.” In addition to this concentration I also earned a minor in “Audio Technology, Music, & Society,” as well as a minor in “Professional Writing, Rhetoric, and Literacies.”
During my time at Western, I worked two university jobs simultaneously. I was the Fairhaven College “Audio Production Assistant” in the mornings, cleaning and maintaining the audio program’s recording studio spaces and equipment while also keeping track of scheduling and writing supplemental educational documentation. I was also a member of the Viking Union Event Tech Crew, running sound, lights, and projectors for university concerts, academic conferences, and other on-campus events. Off-campus I spent time working house shows with friends. Sometimes I would work as a live sound tech, while other times I would provide visual projections with my digital/analog hybrid video feedback synthesizer.
I’m interested in contributing to creative teams of all kinds. I have extensive experience writing curricula for multiple subjects in science and art, and I’m comfortable enough with facilitation to bring my work off of the page and into practice. I like to meet creative people and do what I can to bring their ideas to life.
